This journey combines Greece’s most iconic landscapes, ancient history and authentic local experiences.
From the mythical Mount Olympus and the monasteries of Meteora to the stone villages of Zagori and the archaeological wonders of Delphi and Olympia, travelers explore Greece in the most adventurous way: by campervan.
DAY 1: Thessaloniki – Vergina – Mount Olympus (Prionia)

Vergina Archaeological Site: Journey to the Origins of the Macedonian Kingdom
Your journey begins in Thessaloniki, a vibrant city rich in history and culture. After boarding the Odyssey Campers vehicles, we head towards Vergina (ancient Aigai), the first capital of the
Macedonian Kingdom. At the Polycentric Museum of Aigai, built around the royal tombs, visitors discover one of the most important archaeological discoveries in Greece: the tomb of King Philip II, father of Alexander the Great. Gold wreaths, weapons, armor and exceptional artifacts reveal the wealth and power of the Macedonian dynasty.

Mount Olympus – Prionia: The Mythical Mountain of the Gods

Mount Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece, was believed in ancient mythology to be the home of the twelve Olympian gods. Today it is a protected national park and UNESCO Biosphere
Reserve. We arrive at Prionia (1,100 m), a scenic mountain point surrounded by dense forests, streams and impressive alpine landscapes. It is the perfect starting point for exploring Olympus and
enjoying the peaceful natural environment.

DAY 2: Mount Olympus – Meteora

Meteora: Where Earth Meets Sky
Meteora is one of the most extraordinary landscapes in Greece. Massive rock pillars rise dramatically from the plain, crowned by historic monasteries built between the 14th and 16th
centuries. The monasteries of Meteora are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offer breathtaking views over the Thessalian valley.

DAY 3: Meteora Exploration
A full day dedicated to discovering the spectacular landscape of Meteora. Participants can hike the historic stone paths between the rock pillars and monasteries while enjoying stunning views of the surrounding valley.

Zagorochoria: The Wild Heart of Epirus
Zagorochoria is a region of 46 traditional stone villages located in the Pindus mountains and part of Vikos–Aoos National Park. The area is famous for its stone bridges, dramatic gorges and
unspoiled nature. We settle at Via Natura Camper Stop, located next to the crystal-clear Voidomatis River.In the afternoon we visit Vikos village and, weather permitting, swim at the famous Voidomatis
springs.

DAY 5: Zagorochoria – Voidomatis River – Vikos Gorge - Papigo – Aristi
Today we explore some of the most beautiful villages of Zagorochoria.
Morning activity:
Rafting on the Voidomatis River, one of the cleanest rivers in Europe. The route is gentle and suitable for beginners, offering a unique view of the landscapes of Vikos–Aoos National Park. This activity takes around 5 hours (10:00 – 14:00). After rafting we can visit the traditional village of Vikos and, following a beautiful trail, descent towards the crystal-clear springs of the Voidomatis River.The walk takes about 3-4 hours round trip. Alternatively, we can visit the famous viewpoint overlooking the spectacular Vikos Gorge. After enjoying the view and taking photos, we visit the picturesque villages of:
• Papigo – famous for its traditional stone houses and the natural “Papigo Pools”
• Aristi – a charming mountain village with stunning views of the Vikos Gorge

DAY 6: Moni Stomiou – Aoos Valley
During the morning we hike towards the historic Monastery of Stomio, beautifully located above the impressive Aoos River Gorge. The trail follows the river through lush forests and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. The hike takes approximately 5 hours (round trip). Along the way, there will be opportunities to relax by the river and, weather permitting, enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters. After the hike we enjoy lunch at the traditional restaurant of Hotel Gefyri in the Konitsa area. In the afternoon we visit the Monastery of Molivdoskepasti, located near the Greek–Albanian border and try the trout at local taverna. Alternatively, we can stop at Bourazani Wildlife Resort, where visitors can explore the small animal farm and the beautiful natural surroundings.

DAY 7: Zagorochoria – Thermopylae – Mount Parnassus

ThermopylaeThe historic battlefield where King Leonidas and the 300 Spartans fought against the Persian army in 480 BC. Visit the Leonidas Monument and the historical information center. Nearby natural hot springs provide a relaxing stop.

Afternoon visit to the beautiful mountain village of Arachova, famous for its traditional architecture and local products.

DAY 8: Delphi – Itea – Rio–Antirrio Bridge
Delphi
The Spiritual Center of Ancient Greece
Delphi was considered the center of the ancient world and the home of the famous Oracle of Apollo.
Visit the archaeological site including:
• Temple of Apollo
• Ancient Theater
• Stadium
• Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia
The Delphi Archaeological Museum houses the famous statue of the Charioteer of Delphi.

Itea
A small coastal town ideal for lunch, swimming and relaxation by the sea.
Travel time: Delphi → Itea 18 km | ~20 minutes
Continue towards the impressive Rio–Antirrio Bridge, one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in the world. Optional evening visit to the picturesque town of Nafpaktos.

DAY 9: Rio–Antirrio – Ancient Olympia

Nafplion is considered one of the most beautiful towns in Greece and served as the first capital of the modern Greek state in 1828.
The charming old town is known for its elegant Venetian architecture, picturesque squares and seaside promenades. Visitors can stroll through the narrow streets, explore historic landmarks and
enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this coastal town.
Main sights include:
• Palamidi Fortress, offering panoramic views over the Argolic Gulf
• Bourtzi Castle, the iconic fortress located on a small island in the harbor
• Syntagma Square, the historic heart of the town
• The scenic old town alleys, full of cafes, boutiques and neoclassical buildings
Free time for sightseeing, swimming or enjoying dinner at a seaside restaurant.

DAY 11: Nafplion – Corinth Canal - Athens Airport
Travel time: Nafplion → Corinth Canal 68 km | ~1 hour
Travel time: Corinth Canal → Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos 105 km | ~1 hour
The journey to Athens crosses the Corinth Canal , where we can visit the Acrocorinth – if there is time – and then reach Athens International Airport, where the campervans are returned or drive
to Thessaloniki. This marks the end of the Odyssey Campers Greek Adventure, filled with unforgettable landscapes, history and authentic experiences across Greece.
